Newborn Photography FAQs

When is the best time to book a newborn photoshoot? We book up months in advance, so we recommend getting on our calendar as soon as possible! We sometimes get some last-minute openings, so if your little one is here already, still reach out, as we could have some late babies!

When is the best time to have a newborn photoshoot? If you are looking for sleepy, curled-up newborn posed portraits; those happen before the baby has gotten used to the outside world, usually before two weeks. That said, we photograph babies of all ages; the older baby portraits still make great ones!

Do you provide props and clothing for newborns? Yes. We have tons! You do not need to bring anything. For special requests, please let us know ahead of time.

Are family photos included? Some of packages include family and some are baby only.

I have pre-booked my newborn; now what? What if my baby comes early or late? We keep in contact with you as you get close to your due date, but we ask that all clients email or call within 24-48 hours of having your baby. Most babies are booked anywhere from 8-10 or even 12-14 days, depending on the baby’s weight. Letting us know if you are having your baby early allows room for rescheduling and adjusting.

I missed the newborn baby window; now, my baby is two months old. Will you take them? We photograph babies of any age. Your baby is no longer considered a newborn, but you can still book a session. Please understand that the baby will most likely be unable to do newborn poses or wraps and will usually be awake.

What happens if my baby has baby acne? Do you retouch that? Yes, basic skin retouching is included. For extra retouching (color changing, head swaps, tattoo removal) extra charges may apply.

Maternity Photography FAQs

When is the best time to book a maternity photoshoot? We book up months in advance, so we recommend getting on our calendar as soon as possible! We sometimes get some last-minute openings but we recommend getting on our calendar sooner rather than later!

When is the best time to have a maternity photoshoot? The best time is around 28-34 weeks; you want a glorious round belly but are not too tired to be on your feet for a shoot! That being said, we have photographed moms up to week 40!

Do you provide clothing for maternity? Yes. We have a client closet where you can go through and choose if you want to wear one of our gowns. We have a handful of dresses for girls. We do not provide clothing for men or boys, but we can guide you with recommendations.

Do you provide nude photography? Yes, we do. We offer nude photography, and discretion is provided.

Are family photos included? Yes, we love to have your partner included in the portraits - siblings too!

Cake Smash Photography FAQs

What is a cake smash session? A cake smash session is a fun and memorable photo shoot designed to celebrate a baby's first birthday. During the session, the baby is given a cake to explore, play with, and, of course, smash! These sessions capture the joy and curiosity of your little one as they discover the cake.

When is the best time to have a cake smash photoshoot? We have found the best time is around 11 months old; this will give us time to edit and get you your images for that first birthday celebration.

What should my baby wear for the cake smash? We recommend bringing a special outfit for your baby to wear for the cake smash. Many parents choose a cute diaper cover, tutu, or themed outfit. Keep in mind that the outfit will get messy, so something easily washable is ideal. We also suggest bringing a backup outfit for after the session.

What should we bring to the session? Here are some items you might want to bring:

• A change of clothes for the baby and possibly for yourself

• A favorite toy or comfort item

• Any specific props you want to include in the photos

Will you take photos before the cake smash? Yes, we typically start the session with a few clean portraits of your baby in a nice outfit. These photos capture your baby before the cake fun begins and provide a nice contrast to the messy cake smash shots.

What happens if my baby has allergies? If your baby has any allergies, please inform us in advance. I will not provide the cake in this instance, you can either choose a $50 credit or a 3 additional Images.

Additional FAQs

How long does it take to see my photos? We will send you an online proofing gallery no more than 5 days after the session.

Do you give raw and original images? No, we do not give raw or original images.

What if I do not want retouching? Once you have chosen your final images for editing in the email sent, please notify us if you do not want retouching.

When can I expect the edited gallery to be sent? We strive to get the edited gallery back to you no more than 14 days after you email us regarding your selected images.
